Viru To Play One-Day Practise Match

Virender Sehwag will be playing for Delhi come tomorrow in their North Zone Ranji Trophy one-day encounter against the Services in Chandigarh.

Sehwag reached here yesterday and he would be playing, Viru will now be all set with his boxing equipment to beat the hell out of the opposition bowlers!

The swashbuckling batsman’s presence in the team is likely to give Delhi, who are confident after their convincing win against Haryana at Patiala yesterday, a big boost.

Sehwag scores 180

In the second test versus West Indies Virender Sehwag scored 180 runs to silence his critics. Lately experts had been saying that the Butcher from Delhi should be rested and even go back to county or domestic cricket to improve his basics.Sehwag has answered his critics in the best way by letting his bat do the talking and not saying that he is in form or not. The 180 he scored was an excellent innings, as he showed maturity and a sense of calm in his batting.

Excessive appealing again

Virender Sehwag has been fined for excessive appealing in the match at Antigua. Sehwag was said to violate the ICC Code section 1.5 which states “Celebrating a dismissal before the umpire ruling the batsmen out.”

Sehwag had also been fined earlier in South Africa which led to a mega controversy with Refree Chris Broad.

The charge was brought to the attention of the Referee by Asad Rauf and Simon Tauffel. He has been fined 20% of his match fees.

Kapil dev critical of Sehwag and Kaif

In a suprising interview with India daily, Kapil Dev has come out and criticized the performace of these two Indian batsmen. He told that whoever the player is, if he is not performing well then there is no way that player can be included in the team on the basis of reputation.

Dev said that Kaif and Sehwag should understand and for the sake of the team they should go back to the drawing board i.e., Domestic cricket and sort out their problems with form and technique.
